Screen Room Transformed into a Three Season Room
Though Durham, North Carolina winters are generally mild, it often got too cold to use the screened-in porch on this Carolina Arbors home.
Looking for a way to get more use from the space, Tony and Kathy asked Christopher, a Patio Enclosures design consultant, to visit their home and give them some suggestions. After viewing the existing porch, taking measurements and talking to the homeowners about the intended use of the room, Christopher suggested an insulated three season room.
All Patio Enclosures sunrooms are custom designed and custom manufactured in their facility near Cleveland, Ohio. They were able to design and make a sunroom to fit both the space and the architecture of the home so the finished product looks like it was built with the home.
Kathy and Tony chose insulated glass for the sunroom panels so they are able to use the room for most of the year. The edge-to-edge glass gives them expansive views of the backyard and the knee wall gives the interior of the room a more traditional appearance.
Extending the patio and adding a low wall completed the outdoor space, making this truly and indoor/outdoor living area. The owners love barbecuing for family and friends and, if the weather doesn't cooperate, the party goes on in their brand new sunroom!
